Sijo is a linen-focused bedding company, and its French linen set is the best made of the pure linen sheets sold on Amazon by their makers. The flax is organic, certified to GOTS, and sourced in small batches from Normandy. The cloth is 175 GSM, a touch heavier than the DAPU, and stone washed and pre-shrunk so it arrives already soft.
Softness is the usual complaint about new linen, and Sijo's stone washing is aimed squarely at it. The fitted sheet takes mattresses up to 16 inches and uses a heavy elastic. The maker recommends a cold wash, a thorough rinse and a low tumble dry.
Skip it if you want white to mean optic white. Linen takes dye and bleach differently from cotton, so the Snow color reads as a soft white. Skip it too if organic certification means nothing to you; the DAPU is a similar cloth for less.
The catch. About twice the price of the DAPU for a similar weight of cloth; the extra buys organic flax and a softer finish.
